The zone spreads over 1,173 hectares, which has mixed forests of Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera, Kusum vegetation, tigers, leopards, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears, and king cobras. All procedures of Safari Booking in Corbett are handled by the forest department according to the guidelines of the Indian forest department. Keep in mind that we have no influence on the safari zone, the safari driver and the nature guides, because it is not in our hands. This is determined exclusively by the rangers. Although all zones have a healthy population of tigers, the observations of wild animals are more or less the same. These aspects are controlled by the automated computer system to guarantee an even distribution of the safari vehicles in the respective zones.

Formalities

  • During their visit to Jim Corbett National Park, the traveler must carry the same identification that is presented on this form.
  • Identity Document: Identity Card Number, PAN Card Number, Voter ID Card, Passport Number (For Foreigners Only), etc.
  • All other passengers must also carry identification.

For those who want to experience the wildlife of the national park at its best, the best option is to stay at the park’s FRH (Forest Rest House). When the sound of various animals came from the dense dark forest, nothing in this world could compare to that feeling of joy mixed with fear.


When you raise your flashlight to look around, you can see many eyes shining in the light of your flashlight on the outside of the Rest House’s electric fence. Deer, wild boar, and sometimes even tigers can be seen and heard in the immediate vicinity of the fence of the rest station.

The Dhikala region of Corbett National Park is perhaps the most pristine and wildlife-rich area in North India, a very rich source of wildlife, fauna, and flora, and possesses outstanding natural beauty. The vast dense grasslands called “Chaur”, like the “Savannah” of Africa, exist only here. Built-in 1936, Dhikala Forest Lodge is situated on the banks of the Ramganga Reservoir overlooking the forested hills of Kumaon and Garhwal. An overnight stay here provides a true wildlife experience with the option of elephant rides, jeep safaris, and spending the morning hours at the lookout towers overlooking the Ramganga River and water bodies. It is 50 km from Ramnagar railway station.

 

Dhikala Forest Lodge’s location makes up for the basic accommodation – although in 2006 they were greatly improved as it is deep in the heart of the forest and wildlife can be watched from your room’s verandah. The rooms at Dhikala have been renovated and are no longer basic by Indian jungle standards. Dhikala forest Lodge is located in the core area of Corbett National Park and is surrounded by an efficient solar fence for your safety against wild animals.

 

The rooms are clean, with tiled floors and attached English-style flush toilets. There are showers and faucets that work – in case of malfunction, the use of bathing buckets is recommended. Hot and cold running water is certainly available, but we recommend mineral water for brushing your teeth. the lodge has electricity on a feed schedule and has a backup generator and inverters. Wildlife films are screened every second night in a makeshift theater and the lodge boasts a wonderful wildlife library.

Sarapduli Forest Lodge has 2 standard rooms and 1 bedroom with 3 beds.

 

Sarapduli Forest Lodge is located on the way to Dhikala Lodge from Dhangari Gate. The most centrally located rest house overlooking the Ramganga river in Dhikala area is Sarapduli Lodge. Due to the proximity of the river in front, the movement of tigers and elephants is more frequent in Sarapduli forest lodge. For bird and crocodile lovers, Sarapduli Forest Lodge is the best place.

Sultan Forest Lodge

Sultan Forest Lodge has 2 standard rooms. Sultan Forest Lodge is the first lodge you will come across as you drive from Dhangari Gate towards Dikala Lodge. Sultan Forest Lodge has only 2 rooms. There is no solar fence around Sultan Forest Lodge. It is named after the Sultan Sot (a local seasonal stream) that flows through this area.

 

Corbett National Park offers you jungle safari facilities. One can go for nature safari, bird watching and enjoy the precious nature. You can also take a jeep safari through the jungles of Corbett and if you’re lucky, even spot tigers. Safety:- All the rest houses except the sultan are covered with solar wire fences to prevent animals from entering the forest houses.

Corbett Night Stay Accommodation Formalities

All visitors to Corbett National Park must obtain permits from the relevant authorities. These can be obtained from the park administration center located in Ramnagar. The 03-day permit is issued on the spot without any delay, provided photocopies of the applicants’ identity cards are provided. Foreign nationals must present their passport and a photocopy of it to obtain the permit. Permits for the Corbett forest lodges are only issued for a maximum of three days. What is the most suitable time to see the Tiger?

Four hours are given for the jungle safari of both sessions. In these four hours, one hour which has the most important to see the tiger is from six o’clock in the morning to seven o’clock in the morning, from six o’clock in the evening to seven o’clock in the evening.

This one hour time applies to all regions of Jim Corbett Park, where people go on a jungle safari.

When does Jim Corbett Park close?

The closing time of Jim Corbett Park is from 1 July to 15 October, but during this time only five out of seven zones are closed and two zones are open throughout the year.
Regions that remain closed for five months: Dhikala, Durgadevi.
Regions that remain closed for four months: Bijrani, Ringora, and sitavani
Regions that remain open throughout the year: Jhirna and Dhela.

Which zones are good to see tigers?

Depends on the jungle’s movement during jeep safari and canter safari, according to the last session DHELA and JHIRNA region was classic to see the tiger.

Can I visit all the zones with one entry permit?

Entry permits are issued for a specific tourism zone. Safari is permitted only for the specific zone booked for. Other zones shall remain out of bounds for the visitor.
